A Family Affair

SINCE 1952

With a rich history and vast knowledge in jewelry design, manufacturing, sales, and service, Tobin Jewelers is a family name you can trust. Our goal in every client interaction is to understand precisely what our customer wants, create something beautiful, and help you find exactly what you are looking for, all while staying within the boundaries of your budget.

Our story begins in a small family-owned jewelry store in downtown Milwaukee, WI, in the 1950s. Long before he opened his first retail location, however, the original owner, Bob Tobin, began his family’s legacy with a fascination and enthusiasm for the design and manufacture of exquisite, custom jewelry.

Specializing in both diamonds and gemstones and understanding their customers’ needs intimately, Tobin Jewelers has helped countless members of their community buy or design their engagement rings, bracelets, anniversary pieces, and much more. Over and over again, customer accolades are given for their commitment to quality, craftsmanship, customization, and repair services.

In 1992, Craig and Mary (2nd generation owners) moved to a new, larger space in New Berlin six decades after the first store’s inauguration. In 2011, a second showroom location was added in beautiful Mequon. Rob and Steve (3rd generation owners) continue the Tobin legacy.

Craig, Mary, Rob, and Steve Tobin have followed in Bob’s footsteps and continue to share their knowledge and expertise with the communities surrounding both Milwaukee jewelry showroom locations. With three generations of diamond setters and goldsmiths, when you work with Tobin Jewelers, you work with one of the Tobin family members. They are proud to bring the craft of jewelry into the next generation.

“Our customers know that when they come to Tobin Jewelers, they are talking to the jeweler as well as the owner.”

Meet the Tobins

Steve Tobin

Steve Tobin is one of the owners, designers, and goldsmiths at Tobin Jewelers, a family-owned and operated establishment with two locations in the greater Milwaukee area. Steve is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Business-Marketing.

Though he got his start in the family business as a young kid doing small jobs around the store, after graduation, Steve dedicated his life to learning the finer details of goldsmithing and sales. In 2011, he and his brother Rob opened a second store in Mequon, WI, and in 2014, they relocated to a brand-new location in New Berlin, down the street from their original establishment of 22 years.

In his off-time, Steve, along with his wife Andrea, and their daughter, enjoy time at their cabin fishing, swimming, waterskiing, or playing a round of golf at one of the many beautiful golf courses Wisconsin has to offer.

Rob Tobin

Tobin Jewelers is a family-owned and operated business in the greater Milwaukee Area and Rob Tobin is the elder brother of the owner-designer-goldsmith sibling duo. Rob started at the store in grade school, doing small jobs and learning all the ins and outs of the trade from his grandfather and parents.

Rob continued his education learning the finer aspects of goldsmithing and studied sales and marketing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, graduating in 2005. Continuing the growth and rich tradition of the family business, in 2011, Rob and Steve opened the location in Mequon. In 2014, they relocated the New Berlin location to a brand new space just down the street from the original site.

When he is not at the store, Rob enjoys spending time with his wife, Lauren, and their two daughters at the family cottage swimming, grilling, and fishing.

Philanthropy is an essential aspect of Tobin Jewelers.

The Tobin Family actively donates in monetary and jewelry value to local charities, organizations, and events throughout the year. One, in particular, is the Wisconsin Ovarian Cancer Alliance, as both of Steve and Rob's grandmothers passed away from Ovarian Cancer.

An avid volunteer in his community, Steve is a Past-President of the Mequon-Thiensville Chamber of Commerce and is currently on the Board of Directors. He says, “I take pride that I am in the position to work with so many local business owners to help grow and market our businesses, but also advocate for them when needed.”
